Poetry
I wrote the following poem for my grandson Bennett Stubbs’ 6th birthday on September 26, 2018:
A Special Birthday Poem for Bennett
I said: “Happy Birthday, Bennett.”
And I really meant it.
So glad you were born,
our lives to adorn.
Now there’s a Bennett with Isaac, Elsa, and Lucas,
Just the right amount to create a big ruckus!
Here for your hand is $50 in cold cash.
Avoid losing it in a hasty rash.
Don’t be a dunce.
You can only spend it once.
Keep being a good boy,
And bringing us joy.
Keep doing those crazy Bennett things
That make our hearts sing:
“Happy birthday you little ding-a-ling.”
